SURAT HIRA BAZAR

Surat Hira Bourse (SHB) was established by DGDC in the year 1994 for facilitation of Diamond & Jewelry trade. Surat Hira Bourse is a Customs Clearance Centre serving the Gems & Jewellery sector. It was the first and is still the only such Centre in Surat and is a unique facility functioning for about fifteen years. Surat Hira Bourse has made a very big contribution to the growth and development of the Diamond Cutting & Polishing Industry as well as the Jewellery sector of India and of Surat in particular. Earlier, before SHB came into existence, importers and exporters of Surat had to get the consignments cleared from Mumbai International Airport and carry the precious cargo between Mumbai and Surat – a risky proposition.
